I've been publishing openly since 2014 because an idea only holds up once it survives contact with people who don't already agree. Every paper, publication, keynote and repository is an intentional effort to cut through the noise: research first, then take a provocative position sharp enough to argue with. None of it is gated, none of it is precious, and the parts that turned out to be wrong are still worth reading.
I believe there is a widening gap between emerging technologies and its effective adoption within the building sector. With TGIC, my mission is to help accelerate the adoption of leading technologies among AEC professionals through concise blog articles, newsletters, professional webinars, and hands-on workshops.
Vignesh works at the intersection of design, technology and storytelling, exploring how AI and computational systems can expand what is possible for designers and the experiences they create. He is a published researcher and regular speaker at national and international forums.
Based in Singapore, Vignesh Kaushik is Gensler’s Design Technology Director for Asia Pacific, Middle East and Greater China, where he leads the advancement of design technology across the region. His work sits at the intersection of design, technology and people, connecting digital strategy, computational design, AI and emerging technologies to rethink how design teams work and create. Vignesh leads a diverse design technology community exploring new possibilities across generative design, computational systems, visualization, software development and agile digital tools. At the heart of his approach is a simple belief: technology should not be an add-on to design, but an integral part of how ideas are imagined, tested and brought to life. A published researcher and regular speaker at national and international forums, Vignesh contributes to the broader conversation around AI, machine learning, design computation and BIM. He is equally passionate about developing the next generation of designers and technologists, having taught advanced computational design at institutions across Southeast Asia and mentored architecture students as they begin their careers. Through his work, research and teaching, Vignesh continues to explore how design, technology and storytelling can come together to create more intelligent, meaningful and human experiences.
Pioneering bold, divergent thinking rather than iterative refinement, this body of research drove paradigm shifts in computational algorithms engineered for immediate, high-impact application in architectural practice, underpinning an era of AI and automation through evolutionary and generative design.
